Expo plans mapped out by Dubai Chamber
dubai — The Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry recently hosted a meeting with staff, where officials outlined the organisation’s plans for Expo 2020 Dubai, which will include more than 33 business forums and events during the mega event.
As an official partner, the Dubai Chamber will play a pivotal role in creating new connections and collaborations at Expo 2020 Dubai, which is the first World Expo to be hosted in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia region.
Among the events that will be organised by the Dubai Chamber during the upcoming Expo are the inaugural Global Business Forum Asean (GBF Asean), the sixth GBF Africa and the fourth GBF Latin America, in addition to 30 country focus briefings that will explore business potential in promising markets around the world.
The Dubai Chamber will also support other major events taking place on the sidelines of Expo 2020, such as the fifth Global Islamic Economy Summit, The Retail Summit 2021 and the 12th World Chambers Congress. In addition, it will operate the Business Connect Centre, a dedicated on-site facility for business networking at Expo 2020 where UAE companies can connect with their international counterparts.
Addressing staff Hamad Buamim, president and CEO of the Dubai Chamber, explained that the Dubai Chamber would leverage its position as a business facilitator at Expo 2020 Dubai to foster cross border cooperation and lay the groundwork for new partnerships. He described the Expo as an ideal opportunity to promote Dubai on a global scale, elevate its status as a magnet for foreign companies and investors and foster innovation through international cooperation.
