Global leaders to attend WION summit in Dubai
dubai — After successful summits in Dubai and the US, the WION Global Summit is back with its third edition. The WION Global Summit: Navigating and Negotiating Global Imperatives will be held in Dubai on March 5 from 9.30am at The Oberoi.
WIONisan international news channel dedicated to putting forth India’s perspective on impactful global issues. The summit is a platform for global leaders to engage in dialogue on a common global agenda.
Global leaders like Ranil Wickremesinghe, former Prime Minister of Sri Lanka; Dr Vaira Vīķe-Freiberga, who served as the first female President of Latvia and former president of Club de Madrid; Aleqa Hammond, the first female Prime Minister of Greenland; and Mariya Didi, Minister of Defence of the Maldives, are expected to take part in engaging sessions.
The welcome note at the summit would be given by Pavan Kapoor, Indian Ambassador to the
UAE. Sudhir Chaudhary, CEO and editor-in-chief of WION, will attend the summit. Palki Sharma Upadhyay, executive editor of WION, and Riz Khan, an international journalist, will moderate the sessions.
This year, the summit intends to highlight the critical challenges of climate change, global governance, economic slowdown, and global crisis that threaten to become the new normal.
The event would also see key Indian stalwarts from the armed forces and political parties; for diplomats; experts from the industry; academicians and climate activists taking part in sessions.
