Protest lodged with India over ceasefire violations

A senior Indian diplomat was summoned to the Foreign Office on Thursday to register Pakistan’s protest over ceasefire violations by Indian forces along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Chirikot Sector. Due to unprovoked firing by Indian troops on Wednesday, Mohammed Arif, a villager, sustained serious injuries, a Foreign Office spokesperson said in a statement. The Indian forces have continuously been targeting civilian populated areas with artillery fire, heavy-caliber mortars and automatic weapons, it said.
