Can prayers be offered at a mosque?

The General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments (GAIAE) has asked people to pray at home to avoid spreading or contractin­g infections. The Fatwa Council of the UAE has decided that Eid prayers will be performed at home to ensure safety, and mosques across the country will remain closed. All mosques will declare Takbeerat Al Eid (Eid chants) through their microphone­s 10 minutes prior to the prayer.

WIll the restrictio­n on traffic and public movement continue?

All traffic and public movement is restricted from 8pm to 6am until further notice

Are gatherings permitted?

Avoiding family gatherings is of the utmost importance for safety of elderly, children and people vulnerable to infections.

Is it safe to visit public places? People are advised to avoid crowded places to lower the risk of contractin­g the infection.

Is Eidiya allowed?

Dr Saif Juma Al Dhaheri, spokesman of the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority, urged not distribute Eidaya (money gifted to children during Eid).

What measures to take while engaging in outdoor activities?

People can engage in outdoor activities like walking, jogging and cycling, but only within the vicinity of their residences and a maximum of up to two hours only. Also, it is only allowed for three people to exercise together while wearing face masks and maintainin­g a two-metre distance between each other.
