WHO ARE THE TWO MIRACULOUS SURVIVORS?

-

KARACHI — At least two people are confirmed to have survived the plane crash, according to Sindh government officials.

Meeran Yousuf, the media coordinator for the Sindh health minister, identified the survivors as Mohammed Zubair and Zafar Masood, who is the president of Bank of Punjab.

A third survivor, who had earlier been identified as a passenger, was later confirmed to be a resident of the area where the plane crashed,

Dawn News reports.

Masood has been taken to the hospital, where his brother is with him. He is said to be in stable condition. He was visited by Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah.

Shah visited Masood when he was being checked by the doctors. “Hey Zafar! Murad is here,” the chief minister invited the attention of Zafar who was lying on a stretcher.

Zafar opened his eye and replied, “thank you Mr Murad, I am OK – thank you so much for your visit.” Zafar blinked his eye just to gesture of goodwill to the chief minister, said a spokesperson to the Sindh chief minister.

The BOP president is reportedly out of danger. He spoke to his mother on the phone and informed her about his health. Zafar has sustained fractures to his hip and collar bones, the hospital administration said, adding that there were no burn marks on his body.

Another passenger Mohammed Zubair was visited by Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani.

Later, Zubair appeared in a Geo News programme, and shared details of the accident. Zubair is a mechanical engineer and after working on a project in Gujranwala was on his way home for Eid. —
