OFFICES CAN OPERATE AT 50% CAPACITY, HAVE REGULAR WORK HOURS
Offices across Dubai are now allowed to resume normal operating hours, and more employees can get back to their desks — a decision welcomed by several companies in the emirate.
In a circular issued by the Dubai Economy, organisations have been permitted to increase their occupancy ceiling to 50 per cent in common areas and within office premises. They can also have a workforce capacity of 50 per cent working from the office, as opposed to the previous cap of 30 per cent, according to the document.
Tariq Chauhan, group CEO, EFS Facilities Services Group, said they are ready to operate in full swing while adhering to all precautions.
“As Dubai looks forward to reopening business activities, EFS shall maintain business as usual and garner all energies and positivity for higher efficiencies. It is time for all employees to work towards the transformation of businesses with new ideas and greater productivity,” Chauhan said.
Sharing similar sentiments, Bharat Bhatia, CEO of Conares, a Dubai-based steel manufacturer with 700 employees, said: “We welcome the measures for a gradual and phased return to the workplace. However, the business operations will never be the same again as companies have to realign their work environment priorities with more focus on personal safety and wellness of employees.”
“For us, protecting the health and safety of employees in the workplace must be paramount.”
