41 BODIES HANDED OVER TO FAMILIES
KARACHI — A total of 41 bodies of PIA plane crash victims have been handed over to their families so far.
A PIA spokesman said on Tuesday that on the special directives of Prime Minister Imran Khan, the bodies were being taken to residence of victim families.
He said PIA has issued domestic and international tickets to the bereaved families to facilitate them, said a news release.
He further said a dedicated team of PIA staff and volunteers provide round-the-clock services at its emergency response centre to facilitate the bereaved families.
The spokesman said that residents whose houses were damaged in the incident have been shifted to PIA Airport Hotel and the state-run Qasr-e-Naz.
“PIA has started providing Rs1 million immediately to each bereaved family,” he said, adding that a survey team has also started its work to ascertain damages caused to houses in the incident.
“It is unjust to hold responsible anyone keeping in view only a limited information and a few videos,” he said. —
