Free mass testing campaign launched in Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah

fujairah/ras al khaimah — Free mass testing has been launched in Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah.

Seven health centres, four hospitals and local preventive medicine and mobile medical teams and Sheikh Saud Charitable School in Al Mairid area will perform free Covid-19 tests for all citizens and residents, said Major-General Ali Abdullah bin Alwan Al Nuaimi, Commander-in-Chief of the Ras Al Khaimah Police and head of the local emergency, crisis and disaster team.

He made the announcement while chairing a meeting held remotely and was attended by representatives of various RAK government departments. “These free of charge Covid-19 tests will be also conducted for all personnel working in various commercial establishments, industrial and construction sectors, commercial centres, food stores, delivery services and others,” he said.

Maj-Gen Al Nuaimi also presented the locations of the testing centres and explained the formation of field teams to visit workers who were not tested in their homes.

In Fujairah, Mohammed Saeed Al Dhanhani, director-general of the Emiri Court at the Fujairah Government, launched Covid-19 testing centre in Al Halah, as part of the related plan of the Ministry of Health and Prevention(Mohap), in coordination with the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA).

“Covid tests will be conducted free of charge. Medical and technical staff have been briefed about the required procedures, to provide citizens and residents with the highest standards of healthcare,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Sharjah Directorate of Human Resources announced the expansion of the scope of Covid-19 testing for Sharjah government employees and their families in cooperation with the Mohap.

The free tests will target all employees, including Emiratis and residents, who work in the Sharjah government’s different departments, bodies and institutions, as well as their families, at the testing centres in Expo Centre Sharjah and the Sharjah Golf and Shooting Club headquarters. —
