Doctor held for rape attempt on virus patient

A government doctor at Aligarh’s Deen Dayal Hospital was arrested on Wednesday on charges of molesting and attempting to rape a 25-year-old woman, who was recuperating in the isolation ward after being tested positive for coronavirus. According to reports, Doctor Tufail Ahmad, 30, was booked and later arrested from a hotel where he had quarantined himself after completing his duty in the isolation ward. The victim said in her complaint that Tufail visited the women’s ward on Tuesday night and allegedly touched the private parts of the patient on the pretext of examining her. —
