Abu Dhabi govt staff to get full housing stipend

abu dhabi — Abu Dhabi government employees — both Emiratis and non-Emiratis — will be paid full housing allowances as per their salary grades, according to new government policies.

For the first time, non-Emirati employees who own a residentia­l property in Abu Dhabi will also receive the same annual housing stipend they would have been entitled to if they were renting.

Emirati staff who live in the Capital shall get their housing allowance in full.

The Department of Government Support on Thursday issued the housing policies, outlining the terms and conditions, as well as defining a unified framework for implementa­tion.

Besides the housing benefit, education allowances shall also be granted to eligible employees. These shall be paid for those who have children attending schools within the emirate.

Employees have one year to ensure that their status meets the policy requiremen­ts.
