Duck feeding at new park to wow visitors

The Sharjah Investment and Developmen­t Authority (Shurooq) has opened two new parks in Al Rahmaniyah neighbourh­ood.

One of them, Kshisha Park, features an artificial pond with a duck feeding station. The other, Shaghrafa, is female-only.

The Kshisha and Shaghrafa parks feature social, entertainm­ent, sports, and educationa­l facilities. They have a combined area of 147,700sqm.

Dedicated to families, the Kshisha Park has football and volleyball courts, a library, amphitheat­re, fitness hub, jogging and cycling tracks, playground­s, skateboard range, and specially designed halls for holding workshops.

Designed exclusivel­y for females, Shaghrafa Park contains dedicated halls for conducting workshops, and features play areas, a theatre, jogging track, gym, and basketball and volleyball courts. Visitors can bring their own food into the parks. Barbeques are currently prohibited, but Shurooq is working on adding designated spots for it.

Visitors to Kshisha Park can pre-book the football field for Dh250 per hour or Dh450 for two. The volleyball court can be booked for Dh150 for an hour and Dh250 for two.

At Shaghrafa, visitors will have free access to both the basketball and volleyball courts.

The parks facilities are open from 9am to 10pm, Sunday through Wednesday.

Visiting hours extend until 11pm from Thursday to Saturday and official holidays. They will remain open from 12pm to 11pm during the holy month of Ramadan. The jogging tracks will be available for 24 hours.

Ahmed Obaid Al Qaseer, Chief Operating Officer of Shurooq, said “dedicated teams” are on site to guide and assist guests.
