Leaders pay rich tributes to Khalifa
World leaders join regional powers in offering condolences on the death of the UAE’S second President

Leaders from around the world are mourning the death of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The second president of the UAE passed away on May 13 at the age of 73. While many leaders have arrived in the UAE to offer their condolences to the new President, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, others have paid rich tributes to the late leader, who steered the UAE into the 21st century.
Here is how the world mourned the great loss:

I am saddened to hear of the death of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Abu Dhabi. He will be long remembered by all who work for regional stability, understanding between nations and between faiths, and for the conservation cause.
