Massive blaze controlled in Al Quoz

A massive fire that broke out in a warehouse in Dubai's Al Quoz Industrial area 1 on Monday afternoon has now been put out.

Dubai Civil Defence teams were immediatel­y dispatched, and firefighte­rs reached the spot within four minutes of receiving the report. The cooling operations are underway as the authoritie­s tweeted a charred picture of the recycling warehouse.

The Civil Defence teams arrived at the blaze site at 4.17pm and immediatel­y started work to put out the fire while ensuring the safety of everyone at the site. There have been no reports of casualties so far.

Over a dozen police and civil defence vehicles arrived on site to control traffic and put out the fire. A Civil Defence chopper was also spotted flying overhead to get a bird's eye view.

Earlier, videos shared by Khaleej Times staff showed a thick plume of black smoke billowing out of a facility in the area.
