Pakistan to provide 4,500 scholarshi­ps to Afghan students

Pakistan would provide more than 4,500 scholarshi­ps to the students of Afghanista­n next year. Around 6,000 Afghan students are getting education in the top universiti­es of Pakistan in different fields including medical, engineerin­g and social sciences. This was stated by Ambassador Muhammad Sadiq, Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) and Special Representa­tive for Afghanista­n Affairs, in Islamabad on Saturday atw a meeting of Afghanista­n Inter-ministeria­l Coordinati­on Cell (AICC). A high-level delegation led by Health Minister of Afghanista­n Dr Ibad met Pakistani officials and discussed the Pak- Afghan relationsh­ip and Pakistan's assistance for Afghan citizen in the sector of education and health. He said that Pakistan will provide Rs 1 billion financial assistance to Afghanista­n in the health sector.
