Recall campaign for certain 2021 model year GMC Yukon and Yukon XL vehicles, manufactured in the United States of America. In coordination with the Competition and Consumer Protection Department in the Ministry of Economy and in line with its commitment to conduct an ongoing review of all products in the UAE and provide the consumer with the required protection, General Motors announces a recall for certain 2021 model year GMC Yukon and Yukon XL vehicles, manufactured in the United States of America. The affected vehicles fail to conform, in part, to Federal/ Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (F/CMVSS) No. 108, “Lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment.” The daytime running lamps (DRLS) may not deactivate when the headlamps are on. If the DRLS do not deactivate when the headlamps are on, the resulting glare could increase the risk of a crash. General Motors’ dealers will update the software in the vehicles’ Body Control Module (BCM) to correct the condition. It is estimated that this recall campaign will include 2,071 vehicles in the United Arab Emirates. General Motors has taken the decision jointly with the Ministry of Economy - Department of Competition and Consumer Protection, to launch a recall campaign to inspect the vehicles involved in the UAE and complete the necessary repairs to ensure customers’ peace of mind. In the interest of delivering the highest standards of quality and customer care, General Motors’ dealers will begin contacting the affected customers to inform them about this recall and request them to bring in their vehicles. The recall action will be done free of charge. For any concerns and if you wish to contact General Motors, please call our Customer Communication Center on 800 020 0257.
