Prior to any big performance or TV session, most successful female singers would normally be thinking which couture dress to wear, or what kind of hair style to choose. But American recording artist and song-writer Tamara Gee is not just any star. Her inquisitive and creative mind inspired her to come up with a “couture” makeup line that would at the same time be long-lasting, enriching, trendy, and glamorous. Launched in 2013, NEBU Milano is now in the spotlight, proving to be the "Haute Couture" of niche cosmetics where glamorous, high luxury packaging meets the preciousness of enriched essential minerals. Available exclusively at Paris Gallery, this exciting niche brand is taking the makeup world by storm.

Before entering the beauty industry, the world knew you as a singer, especially after you won the Eurovision song contest, an accomplishment that very few singers dream of. How did that happen? In 2007 I got to know Eurovision. My family hails from Poland, and my husband, Adam Gee, is Polish, so we have lived in Poland for years, and so I continued my career there, and I entered the contest on a whim. Obviously a fan heard a reproduced song and encouraged me to submit it, and it was chosen out of a few hundreds of songs that were narrowed down to fourteen songs. It was a very difficult competition where the votes were divided between the judges and the public votes. I am humbled to have represented Poland that year; it opened the door to my husband and me in Los Angeles where I got to work with Walter Afanasieff who’s a multiple Grammy award-winning record producer and songwriter known for producing some of Celine Dion and Mariah Carey’s most iconic hits to this day. He has been my producer since I can remember. We completed my newest album “Love Tamara” together; which we finished with some big ballads. I also met Anders Hansson and I did the dance segment towards the end. They are two different worlds, but I love ballads and dancing music, they are two very powerful

Personal experience of performing and being in the public eye, coupled with a desire for durable makeup led Tamara Gee to create the luxurious Nebu Milano.

genres that I merged on this album that we are promoting now in different countries.

And how did your journey lead you to the world of beauty and NEBU Milano? Doing these shows, Eurovision, Dancing with the Stars, all the TV interviews and all kind of performances, I was sweating a lot from the light and the heat. Every break they were reapplying the makeup and it wasn’t staying and my skin wasn’t breathing, and they were using well known products. That and the fact that we ladies tend to drop our makeup products, and most of the time they would get ruined inside your purse. So my husband and I came up with this concept of making beauty products that would look good on the outside, and be long-lasting and good for your skin. So we moved to Italy and started working with the best laboratories there. We fell in love in Italy, we got engaged and then got married in Italy, so we wanted to live there and develop our own formulas working with two of the best makeup labs in the world. Our formulas are deeply enriched with antioxidants, vitamins A and E, jojoba and coconut oil, and free of parabens and animal fats, and they are not tested on animals. This is basically how it happened, and it really was innocent. We just thought that there was something missing in the market, and we don’t have children, so this is our baby, and we are nurturing it very slowly.

What does your collection include so far? The brand’s signature item is the baked “SUNDISK” compact powder that comes in three sizes and a variety of textures (matte, iridescent and glossy) and formulas including face and body bronzers, highlighters, pressed powders and blushes. All our powders can be used either dry or wet. Additionally, it is a buildable product. After application, the skin of the face and body is even, glowing, relaxed and smooth, leaving a light and protective film. Luminosity that lasts all day is one of the features that women rave about. We recently introduced the “AMORE VIVACE” lip color collection is available in two incredible formulas featuring 26 stunning shades available in satin matte as well as jelly gloss. We also have The Kabuki brush that ensures perfect application for all our powders and bronzers; it is decorated with Swarovski crystals for an ultra-chic effect found on every piece of the collection which features three stunning designs.

Back to the music, what is your next step? I am working now on a big music project which has to do with our brand and our upcoming fragrance, so I’ll keep you posted!
