TRISTAR TO BAN NONREUSABLE PLAS­TIC IN ITS SHIP­PING OP­ER­A­TIONS AT SOHAR PORT

The Tristar Group has com­mit­ted to ban non-re­us­able plas­tic ma­te­ri­als in its ship­ping op­er­a­tions at SOHAR Port and Free­zone com­menc­ing 2019.

The move was an­nounced at the re­cent Sohar Safety Sum­mit with the theme ‘Drive Change in Safety Cul­ture’ which was at­tended by Sohar In­dus­trial Port Com­pany (SIPC) ofl­cials Ja­cob Bac, deputy har­bour mas­ter, Hashim Al Bloushi, se­nior ma­rine safety oflcer, Waleed Al Siyabi, HSE & ERP su­per­vi­sor, and Ibrahim Al Balushi, ma­rine safety oflcer.

The event was also at­tended by users of the Port of Sohar Ser­vice jetty and teams from Sohar Port Pilot Tug, Svitzer, Al Bati­nah Moor­ing, and Na­tional Ma­rine Ser­vices Div­ing.
