Abrand-new artist’s community called Art be a part, founded by Medha Nanda, is hailed as an innovative platform for promoting charitable causes. The newly formed community intends to build a platform for artists to achieve notoriety and the chance to assist over the course of the next two years.

The recent inaugural auction of Art be a Part, a brand-new artists’ community based in Dubai committed to aiding humanitarian causes, brought in a total of Dh243,000.

The Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) programme Dubai Cares and the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) India would also benefit from the fundraising, according to the event’s organizers.

Being an artist and philanthropist, the founder of Art be a Part, Medha Nanda, says “This is an exciting time for myself, the Art be a Part team, and the artists who have already joined and embraced our community. We all share a common desire to play an active part in helping causes close to our hearts. Our plan over the next two years is to grow our community steadily, create a platform for artists to gain recognition, and give them the opportunity to help causes they really care about”, In an exclusive interview with Magzoid, Medha explains her motive and experience as follows:

Can you tell us a little about your works for humanitarian causes around the world such as your aid for the vulnerable children in India?

This really is just the beginning.

The auction was our very first fundraiser. Art be a Part is committed to helping deliver aid to children, communities, animals and nature which are either being neglected or are forgotten. One of the first targets is to assist vulnerable children in the remotest regions of India.

We are now working to create a programme of fund-raising events and activities for which we need support from the private sector.

We want to provide help where it is needed most urgently such as in areas that are under distress due to natural disaster or war. We aim to ensure that people have access to basic facilities such as sanitary living conditions, access to health, education and nutrition.

What was your motivation behind starting the Arts be a part community?

I have always been interested in art, and I feel a need to help those who are looking to make a positive impact with their talent, but don’t have the means or platform to do so. I founded Art be a Part to showcase and support artists through curated fundraising events, with the objective to channel profits to the causes that need our most urgent intervention.

The platform aims to display and sell unique pieces of art that serve a purpose beyond just aesthetic beauty, so when people are thinking of buying art, Art be a Part is the first name that comes to mind. It will add value to their investment, beyond what they could imagine.

We want to deliver help to causes that support and empower children and communities to live indignity with basic human rights, and in harmony with their surroundings.

How has the response been on this auction so far?

The response we have received from the art world, and so many other people, has exceeded expectations. So, we already have a strong platform to build on.

Who will the funds raised be donated to and why?

The proceeds from our auction in Dubai are being directed to Dubai Cares and UNICEF India. These are two organizations that I was very eager to work with from the beginning, because of the wonderful work that they do to help underprivileged children.

Can you describe your relationship with UNICEF India and Dubai Cares?

We are thrilled to have had the opportunity to support Dubai Cares and UNICEF India with our first fundraiser. This has brought us closely together with two organizations whose initiatives can only inspire the Art be a Part community in our own efforts to make a difference.

What message do you have for our readers?

I’d like your readers to consider what they can bring to the Art be a Part community, and to our mission to support initiatives taking help to where it’s needed most. We’re looking for creative people to join our community, so if you’re a painter, photographer, musician, get in touch. We’d also like to hear from those who feel they can support Art be a Part in other ways. And we want to hear form brands that care, and want to make a difference. We’re asking them to come on board.

Art be a Part is dedicated to assisting in the delivery of aid to kids, families, communities, animals, and the environment that are either being ignored or neglected. Helping vulnerable children in India’s most rural areas is one of the initial goals.

We are now working to create a programme of fundraising events and activities for which we need support from the private sector.
