In a group show at the Sara Hildén Art Museum in Tampere, Finland, Brad Pitt has made his debut as a sculptor. The A-List actor’s artwork appears alongside those by the musician Nick Cave and the artist Thomas Houseago for the exhibition called “We,” and it will be on view until January 15, 2023.

Most know him for his blockbuster movies, chiseled cheekbones and high-profile relationships, but Brad Pitt can now add creating sculpture to his list of achievements after publicly debuting his first works of art in a lakeside museum in Finland.

The actor has nine works on the show. Among them is a houseshaped structure molded in clear silicon and shot with bullets, and the show also includes his first ever sculpture, from 2017, “House A Go Go”: an 18-inch miniature house made out of tree bark, crudely held together with tape.

The largest pieces include a coffin-sized bronze box depicting hands, feet, and faces attempting to break through the structure at various angles, and the plaster wall-hanging sculpture “Aiming At You I Saw Me But It Was Too Late This Time,” from 2020, which depicts a gunfight between eight figures.

Brad Pitt says being a part of this journey is a journey of self-reflection for him

Pitt is hardly the first actor to dabble with art. The affluent and famous, from Pierce Brosnan to Sylvester Stallone and Jim Carrey, have frequently sought new creative avenues to support their day jobs. Last summer, Johnny Depp earned more than $3.6 million in a few hours after releasing 780 prints through the Castle Fine Art gallery in London, which sold out nearly quickly.
