International Coffee Day

International Coffee Day which is celebrated on the 1st of October is a day set aside to promote and celebrate coffee as a beverage, with activities taking place all around the world. The first official date was agreed upon by the International Coffee Organization and was introduced in Milan on October 1, 2015. This day is also used to promote fair trade coffee and raise awareness about coffee producers' situation.

Many companies give free or reduced cups of coffee on this day. Some businesses use social media to distribute discounts and special offers to their loyal customers. National Coffee Day greeting cards and free e-cards are available from several greeting card providers. Around The Block

On Saturday, October 1, Around The Block, an Emirati owned coffee shop, will hold a treasure hunt in honor of International Coffee Day. Arrive at the coffee shop between 4pm and 6pm, look for the hidden golden coffee bean within the venue, and give it to a member of staff for a chance to win a year of free coffee in Dubai. On the day, they will also host a lottery for the chance to win a free masterclass with Around The Block's head of coffee, Justin.

Flat12 Café

If you need a caffeine fix this weekend, stop by Flat12 Café and celebrate International Coffee Day with a free coffee in Dubai. On Saturday, between noon and 1pm, you may grab a free cup of coffee. Flat12 has also teamed with e-commerce retailer Wild Arab West to produce a unique coffee pod that you can experience over the weekend as part of their coffee celebrations.

Le Gourmet at Galeries Lafayette

Le Gourmet has an excellent assortment of gourmet coffees. Get a free Boon Coffee this Saturday as they celebrate International Coffee Day. Enjoy a selection of tasty delicacies while sipping on some complimentary coffee.
