A GANDHIAN TWIST?
Who killed Gandhi? What were the events leading up to the violent assassination of the apostle of non-violence? Is there a bigger truth about the murder of one of India’s greatest leaders than what we know? Fascinating questions which are the subject of Dubai-based director Pankaj Sehgal’s new film The Gandhi Murder, produced by city-based production company Nugen Media. Co-directed by Golden Globe nominated Dutch director Karim Traidia, this one will release on 31st January
2019, on the 71st death anniversary of the Mahatma. While the production is rooted in Dubai, the film has an interesting cast led by the late Om Puri (how wonderful it will be to see him on screen!), along with American actor Stephen Lang (Avatar, Salem Into the Badlands) and British talents – Luke Pasqualino (Skins, The Musketeers, Our Girl) and Vinnie Jones (Lock, stock and Two Smoking Barrels, X-men: The Last Stand). The makers claim the film will “shake the very foundation of India’s political landscaping”. Now, that makes it doubly interesting.
