Do we hear wedding bells for Farhan Akhtar and Malaika Arora?

2019 looks to be a year of weddings as well with stars like Farhan Akhtar and Malaika Arora likely to exchange vows

Love is certainly in the air in Bollywood. If there was one highlight in the industry in 2018, the answer would be ‘wedding’. Big weddings that consumed hours of airtime and reams of print occupied our mind space as the media and fans in general fussed over the clothes, guest list, moments etc at the Sonam Kapoor-anand Ahuja, Deepika Padukone-ranveer Singh and Virat Kohli-anushka Sharma nuptials. But wait, 2019 proves to be no different for Bollywood lovebirds but there is a rider. In all probability, these would be rather low-profile and private weddings.

FARHAN AKHTAR AND SHIBANI DANDEKAR

Let’s take a look at the first couple in question. Farhan Akhtar’s love life came under scrutiny when he first started sharing pics with singer-model, Shibani Dandekar. While many assumed it was one of the many link-ups he had post his divorce with Adhuna Akhtar, they were proved wrong. Their love story was played out to the world through PDA on Instagram posts. However, neither Farhan nor Shibani opened up. Probably because of the sensibilities involved. While Farhan’s ex-wife is reportedly dating Dino Morea’s brother, Shibani, it was said in media reports, doesn’t want to commit too early. However, a May wedding is on the anvil say sources. In all likelihood, it will be a quiet and private wedding with the media getting to know about it only after it’s over! Strangely, there has been no talk of an impending marriage over the last few weeks. Just keeping it low-key or is everything okay?

ARJUN KAPOOR AND MALAIKA ARORA

This is one love story that has seen enough trials and tribulations. Malaika Arora and Arjun Kapoor have been linked for ages but it’s only in the last few months that they have been open about being seen together. Once again, this has played out on Instagram rather than in the real world for the media. The buzz about Arjun and Malaika tying the knot has been growing stronger by the day. For once, the chatter about the age difference (Arjun is 10 years younger than her) has died down. On her part, Malaika has maintained a studied silence about her divorce though she spoke candidly recently about the need to move on. With Arbaaz too finding love elsewhere, it seems she is more open to flaunting her own relationship with Arjun. Either way, if Farhan or Malaika choose to say ‘I do’, it is unlikely to be a big, fat celebration. They have conducted their relationships in a very private manner with social media posts being the only clues, and it will be the same for weddings too!
