Retro­fit Project of the Year

The Retro­fit Project of the Year award went to QTM En­ergy Per­for­mance Con­tract for its Jumeirah Creek­side and Avi­a­tion Club project.

This award fo­cused im­prov­ing of ex­ist­ing build­ings with en­ergy ef­fi­ciency equip­ment and on new tech­nolo­gies adopted, or ex­ist­ing ones re­fined, which max­imises en­ergy ef­fi­ciency and safety.

QTM is an En­ergy Ser­vices Com­pany (ESCO) of­fer­ing fi­nanced be­spoke en­ergy ef­fi­ciency and re­new­able en­ergy ser­vices. For Jumeirah Creek­side and Avi­a­tion Club, the com­pany help re­duce cool­ing con­sump­tion by 20% within the first year, elim­i­nated the an­nual BMS main­te­nance cost and gave rev­enue as­sur­ance for ten­ant billing.

Nasem Tamari, di­rec­tor of en­gi­neer­ing, QTM En­ergy En­gi­neer­ing, said: “The most sig­nif­i­cant rea­son that we feel we de­serve this award is that we have made great achieve­ments in the field of en­ergy man­age­ment, and we have ex­ceeded the ex­pec­ta­tions, es­pe­cially in terms of en­ergy sav­ing mea­sures im­ple­mented in Jumeirah Creek­side Ho­tel. This award en­hances our cred­i­bil­ity within the mar­ket, and it also re­flects added value for our clients.”

QTM was the first con­sul­tant ap­proved un­der Dubai Elec­tric­ity and Wa­ter Au­thor­ity’s list of elec­tri­cal and so­lar PV con­sul­tants and con­trac­tors. QTM com­pleted in June 2015 the first DEWA ap­proved so­lar PV project un­der the Shams Dubai first ini­tia­tive as part of the Dis­trib­uted Re­neaw­able Re­sources Gen­er­a­tion pro­gram.
