MEP Consultancy of the Year
Black & White Engineering won the MEP Consultancy of the Year 2018 at the 12th edition of the awards.
Talking about the award win, Mick Cairns, CEO, Black & White Engineering, said: “As you can see, some of our staff are highly commended, or winner in some of the categories in today’s awards as it had been for the last 10 years. The projects that we do have been quite acceptable by the industry for the last 10 year for which we have won quite few awards. Our staff retention rate is another major achievement. Our people who attend today’s award ceremony are more than eight to ten years with the company. We have got eleven years of success with us. It had been a big learning curve for us for the first few years. But, the last five years had been really very positive. This award means a lot to us. And, we look forward to the next year.”
Black & White have invested significantly in its Revit capabilities and training in the past 12 months. Approximately 3% of revenue is re-invested in the latest IT capability. This allows staff to present the models that they engineer from the very outset of the project. The firm believes in ensuring “its starts the project on the correct footing”. Its team have quickly developed 3-D presentation skills using such tools as Navisworks. In terms of initiatives undertaken in the last 12 months, the firm is offering graduate training schemes for the less privileged in the Philippines. The scheme offers the students a chance to gain academic qualifications.
