Cur­rently over­see­ing Foster + Part­ners’ Dubai of­fice and sev­eral projects in the re­gion, such as a new cul­tural project for Shar­jah and a mixed-use res­i­den­tial com­mu­nity in Dubai, Dara Towhidi is an RIBA char­tered ar­chi­tect. He joined the in­ter­naitonal prac­tice in 1997, after gain­ing first class hon­ours from the Bartlett School of Ar­chi­tec­ture. His ex­pe­ri­ence in­cludes lead­ing high-pro­file in­ter­na­tional projects, which in­cludes Ka­makura House in Ja­pan, Bund Fi­nan­cial Cen­tre in Shang­hai and In­dex Tower in Dubai, an 80-storey mixe­duse project, which was later awarded the CTBUH’s Best Tall Build­ing in the Mid­dle East in 2011. He has also worked on the Zayed Na­tional Mu­seum in Abu Dhabi and led the win­ning scheme for the Cre­ative Com­mu­nity in Dubai’s De­sign Dis­trict (d3). Towhidi takes an ac­tive role in the de­sign com­mu­nity in Dubai, and speaks widely. He also main­tains a role on the AUD Ad­vi­sory Board.
