What is your scope of business in the oil & gas sector?
Worldwide Oilfield Machine (WOM) is a globally recognised, multinational company established in 1980 and headquartered in Houston, TX. The WOM group of companies are located worldwide, including manufacturing facilities, engineering centers, sales offices and assembly testing workshops. We are a fully vertically integrated company, allowing us to ensure the highest level of quality control in every aspect of the manufacturing process to support the oil and gas industry in surface, offshore, and subsea applications including high-pressure and extreme environment conditions.
Tell me about your work in the region.
Worldwide Oilfield Machine’s (WOM) Middle East Magnum Technology Centre (ME/MTC) is located in Jebel Ali Free Zone in Dubai, and has been catering to the oil and gas sector in the MENA region since 1999. WOM ME/MTC designs and manufactures pressure control equipment for the drilling sector, as well as complete well testing and process equipment packages to various service companies.
For clients who require a PSL-3G gas test, WOM ME/MTC has one of the largest gas testing facilities in the region. Designed to give operators the flexibility to adapt to operating conditions, WOM ME/MTC offers packaged solutions that are both versatile and reliable. We design and manufacture wellheads, Christmas Trees, and API 6D Ball Valves. WOM ME/MTC is fully equipped to manufacture, repair, provide spare parts and recertify all WOM equipment operating in the region.
All WOM ME/MTC equipment packages are fully certified to industry and governmental standards and backed up by extensive operational experience and customer support.
In which Middle Eastern countries are you most active? Who are your clients?
We are active in the MENA region, predominantly in the UAE, Algeria, Kuwait & Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Some major clients include: Schlumberger, Halliburton, EXPRO, SGS, Ensco PLC, Rowan Drilling, Nabors Drilling, COSL Drilling, Oilserv, NPS, ENAFOR, ENTP, ENSP, KDC, MB Petroleum, Gulf Drilling and Maintenance Co.
Why did you decide to participate in ADIPEC this year?
WOM ME/MTC has been exhibiting at ADIPEC since 2012. We use it to introduce new and innovative products to existing and potential clients. It allows us to showcase our capabilities and reach a growing market within the MENA region where we operate.
WOM ME/MTC will showcase a complete blowout preventer stack, emergency shut down control panel, dual choke control panel, debris catcher, and triplex pump skid.
How has digitalisation impacted your business?
Digitalisation has kept us informed with market trends in terms of technology, business strategy and intelligence gathering in order to maintain a strong presence in our competitive market.
It has also allowed us to have a more efficient approach towards our customer service.
How has the shifting oil and gas market affected your business?
There have been many challenges in the downturn market which has affected the way we do business. We have a strong portfolio of products, but remaining flexible and willing to customise our products per our customer requirements is what has helped us stay strong in this competitive market. We have designed and tweaked our product portfolio to be more compact and cost efficient while increasing productivity.
What are your goals for 2019?
With a renewed emphasis by producers to prospect for more oil and gas, and new markets opening in the MENA region, WOM ME/MTC is poised to capture the growing demand for equipment and services in the region.
