INTERVIEWEE: MAHENDAR ASARPOTA, VICE PRESIDENT, ACE ENERGY
What is ACE Energy’s scope of business in the region?
ACE Energy is a supplier of steel piping materials, working within the Gulf region’s energy and construction sectors.
Tell me about the services you offer; what sets ACE Energy apart from others?
ACE Energy specialises in being a fully comprehensive supplier of piping, fittings and valves (PFV) for projects in the region.
We bridge the gap to establish a solid relationship between clients and manufacturers, and we always endeavour to provide the best solutions to our valued customers.
How do you manage growing business while maintaining high quality standards?
Some things do not go out of fashion, like integrity and dedication.
We have been fortunate to have very effective team leaders who have always ensured that our commitments to our customers are given primary importance without any sacrifice in terms of overall quality.
How does next year look for ACE Energy, given rising oil prices?
With the increase of oil prices we are very optimistic that there will be a very large amount of investment going into the oil and gas sector, which we expect will be reflected in a very busy 2019.
How has new technology influenced your business?
Advancements in technology used by the company, and the industry at large, have brought increased efficiency to all sectors of the country, and, of course, to the oil and gas industry itself. Among those technologies, we can count FIFO, VAT, and just in time procurement systems, which are changing the way companies do business.
What are the key areas of focus for ACE Energy in the coming year?
We are very optimistic about our neighbouring GGC countries becoming more active; specifically with new projects that should be announced and should begin very soon.
One clear example of this is the government of Abu Dhabi’s plans to launch approximately $13.6bn worth of projects, which we believe will spur many positive initiatives that could help the entire country.
With the new outlook of Saudi Arabia’s leadership, we expect that the Kingdom will start up a lot of projects. We also are seeing a lot of positivity in Bahrain, Oman and Kuwait, which would be our target markets for the coming year.
Do you have any plans for growth and expansion in the region?
Our current focus for the next two years is to establish a strong foothold in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. We are also in discussion with several partners for possible joint ventures to set up manufacturing units within the Gulf region.
