SDLG UNVEILS ELECTRIC COMPACT EXCAVATOR THAT CAN DIG CONTINUOUSLY FOR THREE HOURS
SDLG showcased a concept electric compact excavator, the E660F-EX, which can perform continuous digging for about three hours on a full charge. The 6t capacity E660F-EX is based on the current E660FL compact excavator, which has a bucket capacity of 0.2 m3, maximum excavation force of 40 kn, and swing speed of 10 r/min. To make the machine electric, the combustion engine was replaced by a 30 kwh lithium battery and switched reluctance electric motor. The concept E660F-EX can be recharged by plugging into a power grid or the vehicle-charging facilities that are already available in China. A full recharge takes between three to four hours on a 32 amp grid. With a dedicated grid, the E660F-EX could be recharged within one hour.
The concept excavator is SDLG’S first foray into electromobility and is not available commercially.
