THE DEALERS POWER LIST, BAUMA LAUNCHES, AND FUTURE OF MINING

-

The industry had a few opportunities to gather this month, with bauma grabbing headlines and major launches announced at the global show (learn more on page 22). It drew nearly half a million attendees to the trade show in Munich, Germany, from more than 200 countries. 3,200 companies exhibited their latest technologies, representing 60 countries.

It seems to demonstrate the general atmosphere of the sector, with industry leaders continuing to innovate and develop new technologies despite challenging market conditions, with an optimistic outlook as projects are announced and the economy recovers from the turbulence of the past few years.

Several attendees also noted that it indicates a general normalisation in society, as industry peers meet face to face for the first time in years.

Meanwhile, the mining sector gathered a few events this year, including The Mining show, with thousands of attendees networking, learning, and doing business over the two-day event (turn to page 32 for more). In our coverage, we examine the mining equipment market outlook and explore the major announcements made at the show.

We also share a feature from Magna Tyres (36), diving into its role in the mining sector, its aspirations for 2023, and why India is a key growth area for the group.

But the cover feature this month goes beyond industry events, taking stock of the work that dealers have done in the past year, in our annual Dealers Power List (featured on page 12). As always, it is not a ranking, but a list of the top dealers in the region, who enable industrial growth and development across sectors.

We also feature the changes in health and safety on construction sites, and the role of technology in creating safer work sites (page 8).

On behalf of our editorial team, enjoy the coming pages, and we look forward to reporting on your achievements in the coming year.
