Or­pic cel­e­brated Omani Women’s Day with a spe­cial get to­gether in So­har in the pres­ence of a num­ber of spe­cial in­vi­tees from the com­mu­nity, along with mem­bers of the ex­ec­u­tive team and ladies from Or­pic

Ev­ery­one pre­sented showed love and grat­i­tude to His Majesty Sul­tan Qa­boos bin Said for sup­port­ing Omani women in all spheres of life. They also ex­pressed ap­pre­ci­a­tion for des­ig­nat­ing a day in hon­our of Omani women and the en­vi­able po­si­tion that women en­joy in the coun­try, in­clud­ing rep­re­sen­ta­tion in key govern­ment po­si­tions.

No­fal Al Saidi, hu­man re­source ser­vices gen­eral man­ager at Or­pic, said: “Omani women have be­come a key con­trib­u­tor to the de­vel­op­ment of Or­pic in var­i­ous fields re­flected by nu­mer­ous suc­cesses achieved by women at the dif­fer­ent work fields. Driven by its vi­sion to be a com­pet­i­tive down­stream busi­ness that Oman is proud of, Omani women at Or­pic rep­re­sent around 10% among the com­pany’s work force and is set to in­crease dur­ing the com­ing five years.”

The cer­e­mony in­cluded a num­ber of work­shops and var­i­ous ac­tiv­i­ties, in ad­di­tion to the ex­hi­bi­tion of small and medium en­ter­prise (SME) prod­ucts, which are pro­duced by Omani women, through Tas­need Pro­gram, an Or­pic ini­tia­tive that sup­ports and de­vel­ops SMES and house­hold prod­ucts across the Sul­tanate.

It is worth to men­tion that Or­pic cel­e­brates Omani Women’s Day on an an­nual ba­sis to re­it­er­ate one of the com­pany’s val­ues to serve Oman and its cus­tomers with pride, and to recog­nise the es­sen­tial role women are play­ing to con­tribute in driv­ing the coun­try’s growth and de­vel­op­ment on all lev­els.
