Founded in 1911, Snc-lavalin is a fully integrated professional services and project management company with offices around the world dedicated to engineering a better future for our planet and its people.

The company creates sustainable solutions that connect people, technology and data to design, deliver and operate the most complex projects. It deploys global capabilities locally to its clients and deliver unique end-toend services across the whole life cycle of an asset including consulting, advisory & environmental services, intelligent networks & cybersecurity, design & engineering, procurement, project & construction management.

Recently, the company has launched a data-driven solution designed to decarbonise the built environment in a cost-effective way, and accelerate the journey to net zero across the globe.

Decarbonomics is said to be an initiative that builds on Snc-lavalin’s methods and practices to deliver highperforming buildings and developments, interconnected by smart and green systems and infrastructure.

According to the company, it is being launched as both private and public sectors are looking at ways to reduce their carbon emissions at pace, as the built environment contributes around 40% of global carbon emissions and the majority of the buildings that will exist in 2050 have already been built.

Globally, Snc-lavalin has developed the ‘Engineering Net Zero’ program which focuses on leading the engineering industry to achieve net zero carbon as rapidly as possible, by helping clients manage climate risks and build climate resilience.

The company through its partner Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) has also launched a Commissioning Training Academy in Muscat, Oman, bringing its global project commissioning and completions experience to the benefit of both local youths as well as projects in the country.

Snc-lavalin was formed in 1991 as a result of the merger of Surveyer, Nenniger & Chenevert Consulting Engineers and Lavalin
