Hyundai Engineerin­g and Constructi­on Co., Ltd. is a major constructi­on company in South Korea. The company was founded by Chung Ju-yung in 1947 as the Hyundai Civil Works Company and was a major component of the Hyundai Group. Hyundai Constructi­on and Hyundai Engineerin­g merged in 1999.

In 2021, the company for the first time in its history bagged an order in Peru for a ‘Site Preparatio­n for the Chinchero Internatio­nal Airport’, securing a comparativ­e advantage in the infrastruc­ture market as well as a deal on constructi­on of ‘Rafha 380KV substation’ in the company’s traditiona­l stronghold of Saudi Arabia. Prior to this, in 2020, the company bagged orders for constructi­ng the Panama Metro Line 3, Qatar’s Lusail Tower in the overseas constructi­on market despite COVID-19 and low oil prices, recording a huge order log of $ 6.45, attesting to its power as the “big brother” in the Korean constructi­on sector.
