If you want to take your first steps into coaching or just want to enhance your knowledge, then there’s every reason to attend It’s Just Football’s (IJF) FA International Coaching courses in Dubai.
Giving you the chance to earn your qualifications from the English football’s governing body under a qualified tutor, the Foundation course runs from September 28 to October 6, while the Intermediate level is from November 16-24 at Jebel Ali Centre of Excellence.
For beginners, the Foundation course is a perfect introduction to coaching qualities and player competencies. They will learn about the importance of session planning and evaluation, while also gaining an insight into running and organising tournaments.
At the end of that, candidates will have an opportunity to enhance their knowledge in November’s Intermediate course. Focusing on the advanced aspects of football coaching, topics will include attacking and defending principles of play and the development programme.
IJF are no strangers to hosting the courses with previous editions a huge success, and Chris Brown, global director of football, is confident this year’s will be no different.
“We’ve been in association with the courses since 2013 although it has been running in Dubai since 2006,” he said.
“Every time we have held the courses, they have been well received by everyone who attends.
“It is the perfect opportunity for aspiring coaches to gain coaching qualifications from one of the most revered coach education bodies in the world.
“The top class facilities at Jebel Ali Centre of Excellence allow for both the practical and theory aspects of the course and give the candidates the best possible chance of learning at a professional level and gaining employment at a private football academy in the UAE or overseas.”
Maximum number of slots in each course is 20, although that could increase depending on interest. The cost for the Foundation course is Dh5,000 while it’s Dh6,000 for Intermediate, with both courses involving theory and practical.
“The theory will be 30 per cent while the practical element is 70 per cent,” added Brown. “It will give you a great insight on what is required to become a football coach, whether you want to coach here in the UAE or abroad.
“The Foundation course is ideal for those who are coming into the game and don’t have much or no coaching experience. If you want to envisage a career in football, then this is the first step whether you want to establish a career in coaching or do it as a hobby.”
