Ad­noc praised for vi­tal role

RUWAIS: Sheikh Ham­dan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Rep­re­sen­ta­tive in Al Dhafra Re­gion, has com­mended the sig­ni­icant role played by Abu Dhabi Na­tional Oil Company (Ad­noc) as a primary eco­nomic driver of the UAE.

Sheikh Ham­dan made the state­ments in a tour of Ruwais City, 240 kilo­me­tres west of Abu Dhabi city, dur­ing which he was ac­com­pa­nied by Sheikh Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chair­man of Abu Dhabi Ex­ec­u­tive Coun­cil.

“The Ruwais City de­vel­op­ment plan its within Ad­noc’s key role in fu­elling the UAE growth for the fu­ture,” Sheikh Ham­dan said.

He com­mended the valu­able ef­forts made by Ad­noc to trans­form the City from an in­dus­trial oil town to a more live­able and at­trac­tive com­mu­nity for fam­i­lies over the com­ing years, ex­press­ing his ap­pre­ci­a­tion of the ded­i­ca­tion shown by the company’s teams to en­sure the rapid growth of the city.

Sheikh Ham­dan was shown around and briefed on a num­ber of projects and ser­vices be­ing es­tab­lished to con­trib­ute to re­cruit­ing na­tional cadres to live and work in the city.

Ac­com­pa­ny­ing Sheikh Ham­dan dur­ing the tour were the Di­rec­tor­gen­eral of the Abu Dhabi CPC, Jaber Mo­hammed Ghanem Al Suwaidi; Sul­tan Bin Khal­fan Al Ru­maithi, Un­der-sec­re­tary of the Court of the Ruler’s Rep­re­sen­ta­tive in Al Dhafra Re­gion; and Ahmed Matar Al Dha­heri, Di­rec­tor of Ruler’s Rep­re­sen­ta­tive Ofice of the Al Dhafra Re­gion along with a num­ber of top ofi­cials.

Ad­noc has an­nounced ma­jor de­vel­op­ment plans for Ruwais City, a 6.9-square kilo­me­tre com­mu­nity near the Ruwais In­dus­trial Com­plex in Abu Dhabi’s Al Dhafra re­gion.

The project will see the city’s pop­u­la­tion nearly dou­ble over the next 15 years, and the cre­ation of thou­sands of spe­cialised, highly skilled jobs in par­al­lel with Ad­noc’s in­vest­ment in its down­stream op­er­a­tions.
