The Gulf Today - Panorama - - EDITORIAL - SARAH TARYAM

December is upon us and in this last month of 2018, which has lown by so fast, we are taking a look back at pop culture and all the moments that caught our attention. This week we are delving into the music world and listing the 10 best albums that had us talking. From catchy pop hits to deeper rock anthems, did any of your favourites make the list?

Number ive on our list is Kendrick Lamar’s album Black Panther: Original Motion Picture Score. The album features several other talented artists including Future and SZA who all came together to produce an amazing soundtrack for the Blank Panther movie. Lamar co-produced the album and has writing credits on an impressive 14 tracks.

Janelle Monáe comes in at number three with her third full-length album Dirty Computer, 10 years after the release of her irst oficial EP Metropolis at age 21. The album is powerful and soulful with tracks celebrating black female power and self worth. Zoe Kravitz also features on one of the tracks.

In second place we have the Arctic Monkeys who have taken the biggest leap of their career so far with the album Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino. Critics have praised the sixth studio album by the British rock band which was released back in May and features a sci-i theme on some of its tracks. Read on to discover who made the top spot on our list.

In other news this week, turn to our Beauty pages to read about how to properly wear red lipstick. Not all lipsticks are the same quality in terms of shade and formula so the brand you choose will make a huge difference. For a formula that will last all day, go for a matte lipstick which is more pigmented and impactful. For evening glamour, go for a formula which has more sheen to it.
