CHECKING YOUR PHONE WHILE WORKING OUT CAN CAUSE DISTRACTION AND REDUCE THE INTENSITY OF YOUR EXERCISE
Are you going to the gym? If so, don’t take your phone! It’s pretty sad to see someone occupying a piece of equipment with their legs moving lethargically, while their fingers flip around frantically, texting and web surfing. It’s also rude. Other people may want to use that bench or machine.
But the worst part is, keeping your mind on your phone while faking an exercise is a waste of time. Without the involvement of your brain — in other words, your concentration — you might as well be taking a slow walk down an empty street for all the good
A study published in the journal Performance Enhancement & Health found that texting during exercise impacted balance and stability by 45 per cent.
