Superlatives are nothing special at the Palazzo Versace Dubai. Situated on the winding banks of the Dubai Creek, the hotel is modelled on a 16th-century Italian palace and interspersed with Arabian-in-fluenced architectural elements.

To say that the hotel is perfect for those Instagram holiday moments is an understatement. The 40,000 square metres of marble, 50 million pieces of tesserae in mosaic work, 12,000 pieces of furniture, 400,000 pebbles in the porte-cochere, fabrics totaling 120,000m and three-tonne chandelier are but a few impressive highlights. As we all know that a successful project is more than the sum of its parts, a special chemistry, balancing both flux and material quality, is what keeps the place alive and desirable.

Steeped in classic Italian design, the rooms are a statement of both boldness and elegance, while the suites are the epitome of palatial living, large enough to get lost in.

Once you’ve checked-in and got a feel for your room, the day beckons, and if you have children ages 4 to 12, the facilities of the kids’ club are complimentary for all guests staying in the hotel.

Delicious dining choices abound, but from the very start, a soothing experience has been choreographed. At the very heart of the hotel, Mosaico, the opulent lounge, offers panoramic views of the Dubai Creek and central pool through its soaring floor-to-ceiling windows; strong pillars; elegant interiors; and a grand piano to keep you inside. A lavish Palazzo Versace High Tea features sandwiches, including cucumber and cheese with avocado cream and brie and walnut, sweets including lemon meringue macarons, and plain and raisin scones that come with homemade jam, clotted cream and lemon curd.

The signature Italian restaurant Vanitas is the place to head for either lunch or dinner (think carpaccio, burrata bruschetta and tagliolini alle vongole for lunch, or prawn tartare and black cod or sea bass for dinner), while the bolder Enigma restaurant’s culinary tale continues to evolve and features the Taste of Persia. Inspired by the Iranian origins of our Michelin-starred executive chef Mansour Memarian, it is the most authentic culinary story to grace the kitchens of Enigma.

For afterwards, or indeed to spend the whole evening since it offers its own bar menu, the classy, softly lit Q’s Bar and Lounge, opened by legendary record producer Quincy Jones, boasts live musical performances in a glamorous environment.

The hotel’s location holds a certain novelty value – it feels like you have escaped into a tranquil corner of the city. With the newly opened Jameel Arts Centre in the vicinity, Palazzo Versace Dubai lights up Jaddaf Waterfront with an artful opulence.

For bookings visit palazzoversace.ae or call 04 556 8888.

Check in to Palazzo Versace Dubai and admire the impressive décor, enjoy the smooth sounds at Q’s Bar and Lounge, let little ones explore the kids’ club, and then take stock of it all in a palatial suite
