In case proof was needed that Dubai is truly on the fashion map, Glass­ing has re­leased an ex­clu­sive col­lec­tion of sun­glasses called We Are Steel Dubai. Part of its global city range, which in­cludes Ibiza, where the brand be­gan, the new col­lec­tion is in­spired by the con­trast be­tween the mod­ern ar­chi­tec­ture of the Dubai sky­line and the hues of the desert. The re­sult is a col­lec­tion of rounded frames cast in steel, and lenses in tones of cool lilac and warm sun­set or­ange. Avail­able in four dif­fer­ent styles, named Steve, Eddy, Ilary and Paul, each of­fers a sub­tle vari­a­tion on the clas­sic round shape. Ilary feau­tures a so ly shaped cat’s eye that li s in the cor­ners, while Eddy (pic­tured) sports a bar across the bridge for a retro feel. Steve is slightly flat­tened across the eye­brows, while Paul is a com­plete and plump cir­cle, as favoured by ex-Bea­tles singer John Len­non (who in­ter­est­ingly wrote a song called Steel and Glass in 1974). www.glass­ing.ae
