Under the banner “classic with a twist”, Vacheron Constantin has unveiled seven new collections, including a contemporary take on its 100-year-old American 1921. A century ago, the watchmaker embraced the Roaring Twenties with a watch design produced primarily for the American market, and it would come to represent the maison’s inherent creativity. To mark the anniversary, Vacheron Constantin has released three new interpretations of the American 1921, with the signature diagonal display, off-centre crown and cushioned case – particularly suited to driving enthusiasts who could read the time without having to take their hands off the steering wheel. The new variations include two white gold models and a 100-piece Collection Excellence Platine limited edition, each containing a manual, winding, Calibre 440 AS in-house movement. Another standout is a series of three 10-piece limited editions in the Métiers d’Art Tribute series (pictured), paying homage to 15th century Portuguese sailors Bartolomeu Dias, Vasco da Gama and Pedro Alvares Cabral.
