MYANMAR BUILDING COLLAPSE KILLS 2
YANGON // Two construction workers were killed and dozens injured when part of a luxury hotel being built in Myanmar’s second city of Mandalay collapsed. Rescue teams worked round the clock to free a trapped 18-yearold worker after the incident on Saturday, pulling him from the rubble after a 30-hour rescue attempt, police said yesterday. There has been a building boom in Myanmar in recent years, but the rush to build new hotels and condominiums has raised concerns about building practices, because rules are poorly implemented.
