Tiring times on the women’s tennis circuit

-

The tennis season is nearing the completion of its ninth month, having begun back in January in Australia, and some are feeling the strain more than others. Agnieszka Radwanska, the world No 13, crashed out of the Wuhan Open in China in the third round at the hands of Ashleigh Barty 4-6, 6-0, 6-4, and she joined the likes of respective second and fourth seeds at the tournament Simona Halep and Caroline Wozniacki in having an early exit.

As to the cause for the surprise defeats in the early rounds of the competition, Radwanska said: “Some of the girls are tired. Obviously it’s the end of the season.”
