- RUBA HAZA

Residents have been asked to vote for a programme launched by the Dubai Government that has made a difference to their lives.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai, has asked people to vote for one of eight government projects shortlisted for the Hamdan bin Mohammed Programme for Smart Government Flag.

The initiative rewards programmes that best meet the vision of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, the Vice President and Ruler of Dubai.

“Customer satisfaction is key to achieving further developments in smart government, and is a solid metric for measuring the compatibility of these services with the needs and aspiration of the public,” Sheikh Hamdan said.

Placing people at the core of all government services is the basis of the strategy and he said government units working as a team would help to establish Dubai as a competitive destination.

The nominees this year are: Dubai Electricity and Water Authority’s One Step Initiative; Smart refund by Dubai Customs; Montaji by Dubai Municipality; Dubai Health Authority’s Dammi Application; RTA’s Smart Transport Initiative; Female Responder by Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services; Community Airport Application from Dubai Airports; and Dubai Expert by Dubai Tourism.

The finalists were shortlisted from 31 government entities and the winners will be announced next month.

The project that receives the most votes from the public will win the Hamdan bin Mohammed Programme for Smart Government Flag.

The competition aims to promote innovation in government departments by highlighting success stories that result in efficient and smarter governance.

Residents can log on to vote.dtmc.gov.ae to have their say. Voting closes on December 7.
