‘You want to make more out of less when running a start-up’
Geeta Pahlajani gives more detail about her platform Goodness Cart to The National:
Who first invested in you? [Funding came] through our own personal resources and private investment from a firm in India
What successful start-up you wish you had started? Airbnb. It has successfully broken the barrier of bringing a stranger into your personal space. Whether you look at technology, customer experience or marketing initiatives it is all based on the premise of trust.
What is your next big dream? We are working on a conversational interface which would allow consumers to shop in a very personalised manner backed by artificial intelligence. What new skills have you learnt in the process?
People management because when you are a start-up you want to make more out of less.
Magic wand – if you could wave that wand and give yourself three wishes to ensure you attain Uber-like success what would those three things be? Essentially what are your drivers for growth? First wish would be to find the right resource skill set in the region. It is a big point. The second wish would be around the cost of doing business, which is very high. Third is investment to scale up.
What is your competitive advantage?
First one is technology: we have proprietary technology that has extensive analysis of the this entire industry. Second the team we have.
