▲ Greek restau­rant Gaia opens in Dubai

Mediter­ranean cui­sine is all the rage right now, and the ever-canny chef Izu Ani has teamed up with chef Orestis to of­fer food­ies a range of tasty but healthy Greek dishes at Gaia, which opened in DIFC on Sun­day. The fo­cus is very much on seafood, with an inhouse “fishe­lier” run­ning the show at the eatery’s cen­trally po­si­tioned ice mar­ket, to guide din­ers on types of seafood, cook­ing meth­ods and flavours on of­fer. Other sig­na­ture dishes in­clude freshly baked bread, Greek salad, baked feta, seabream carpac­cio and baby goat, as well as tra­di­tional Greek desserts. Gaia is set up to re­sem­ble a mod­ern-day tav­erna and in­cludes a trin­ket shop on the lower level. Call 04 241 4242.
