▲ Greek restaurant Gaia opens in Dubai
Mediterranean cuisine is all the rage right now, and the ever-canny chef Izu Ani has teamed up with chef Orestis to offer foodies a range of tasty but healthy Greek dishes at Gaia, which opened in DIFC on Sunday. The focus is very much on seafood, with an inhouse “fishelier” running the show at the eatery’s centrally positioned ice market, to guide diners on types of seafood, cooking methods and flavours on offer. Other signature dishes include freshly baked bread, Greek salad, baked feta, seabream carpaccio and baby goat, as well as traditional Greek desserts.
