Military to wow Ajman residents and others as Union Fortress show returns
The UAE’s military might will be on display as the Union Fortress show comes to Ajman on Friday.
The impressive spectacle, which is being held for the fifth time, will show off the skills of the nation’s Armed Forces in a series of demonstrations.
Helicopters, jets, armoured personnel carriers and rapid attack boats were previously used in the show.
The event this weekend will be held in the Al Zorah district of the emirate and is free to attend.
The show aims to highlight the role of the UAE military in safeguarding the security of the country and its residents.
An activities zone is part of the event and will open at 10am, with the show itself getting under way at 4pm.
Live-action scenarios – such as an airborne hostage rescue – will ensure spectators are enthralled.
The military demonstration is being hosted under the patronage of Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Ruler of Ajman and Member of the Supreme Council.
The event is expected to attract thousands of residents and designated parking zones will be set up for visitors on the day.
The Union Fortress event was held for the first time at Abu Dhabi Corniche on March 2, 2017, with subsequent editions held in Sharjah, Al Ain and Fujairah.
