ONCE LOST IS GONE FOREVER
In workshops across Gaza, craftsmen and women toil at trades handed down through the generations. The city was once famous for its clay pottery, colourful glassware, bamboo furniture and ancient frame looms weaving bright runs and mats. But a global decline in age-old skills and falling demand for handmade goods is felt more acutely in Gaza. From about 500 looms working at the peak of demand, only one is still functioning today
