Brace for rain and rough seas from tomorrow
A weather alert warned of rough seas off the UAE’s west coast yesterday, followed by thunderstorms starting early tomorrow.
Temperatures are expected to drop across the country tomorrow and Thursday, with rainfall varying in intensity in different emirates, the National Centre of Meteorology said.
Wind speeds could reach 70 kilometres per hour with blustery conditions causing swirling dust and sand to reduce visibility, the centre said.
The unstable weather will persist until Thursday, with rainfall continuing in eastern areas and cloudy conditions inland.
Temperatures are expected to drop with highs of 26°C and lows ranging between 14°C and 16°C forecast for Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Ras Al Khaimah, according to BBC Weather.
The country is recovering from flooding caused by torrential rain this month that brought traffic to a standstill and resulted in the cancellation of after-school activities and a disruption of flights.
