Gary Rhodes died of brain injury after collapsing at Dubai home
Gary Rhodes’s family confirmed the celebrity chef died of a brain injury after collapsing in his Dubai home.
The family released the statement on Wednesday to “end speculation” about how Rhodes died.
“Gary returned home in a very happy mood for a peaceful evening with his wife Jennie,” the family said. “After dinner, Gary collapsed in their residence and was rushed to hospital but passed away due to a subdural haematoma.”
Rhodes, who was 59, died on Tuesday evening.
He had lived in Dubai since 2010 and was seen filming in the emirate on November 22.
Staff at Grosvenor House Dubai and Le Royal Meridien Beach Resort & Spa, where Rhodes ran restaurants, said he was “a true culinary legend… an inspirational human being and a very dear friend”.
