Authorities update rules for travel overseas this summer
UAE residents who travel abroad this summer do not need to get approval or be tested before they leave.
They are encouraged to register with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Tawajudi system, said Brig Gen Khamis Al Kaabi, spokesman for the Identity and Citizenship Authority.
Travellers, however, should check the guidelines for the country they are visiting.
Once abroad, they can apply via the ICA system to return. It is not possible to apply before you leave.
UAE residents abroad must get tested in the country they are in before returning. At Abu Dhabi and Northern Emirates’ airports, travellers will not be tested when they land.
The UAE yesterday recorded 401 new coronavirus cases after more than 50,000 additional tests. Another 492 patients recovered, taking the tally to 45,140. Two patients died, taking the death toll to 333.
