Padosan launches ‘snacktevit­y’ kits

For those dining in more than ever and looking to pick up a new hobby, delivery-only kitchen Padosan in Dubai has come up with a solution. It has teamed up with local artist Shiba Khan to offer a kit that can be purchased alongside a food order. It’s suitable for children and adults, features a planter, potting soil, seeds, pop sticks, pencils, colours, a brush, disposable gloves and instructio­ns, so everything you need to paint and plant. Padosan specialise­s in Indian snacks, so the next time those momo, sandwich or frankie cravings come along, add on the kit for Dh60 by calling 050 355 2461.

Mama Rita introduces wholesome dishes

The company was launched by influencer Jessica Kahawaty and her mother, Rita, in Dubai last year, and has expanded its food offerings. New to the menu are a hearty vegetarian lasagne; salmon and mango bowl; cauliflowe­r salad with a drizzle of tahini; and warak enab, a dish of rice and mincemeat-stuffed vine leaves. The online delivery company specialise­s in healthy, wholesome Levantine dishes, aimed at those missing home-cooked meals and those looking for a taste of Eastern Mediterran­ean cuisine. Bread Street Kitchen gets creative with pies

Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant is serving a range of sweet and savoury pastries until Sunday,

February 28. Traditiona­lists will be glad to know the menu includes the original Cornish pastry pocket – with beef, potato and onion – which originated in the 14th century as convenient sustenance for miners. There are also spin-offs such as chicken, corn and red peppers; spinach and ricotta; pecorino cheese and truffle; and steak and kidney. Among the sweet versions, there’s apple and berry; banana and custard; and banana and Nutella. These are priced between Dh40 and Dh95. The restaurant at Atlantis, The Palm is also celebratin­g British Pie Week from next Monday. The pies will be priced between Dh50 and Dh110. Expect favourites, alongside more eclectic creations such as rogan josh lamb; royal dish pie with brioche crumbs; and banoffee and Italian meringue.

Surf and turf feast at Cassette’s supper clubs

Home-grown restaurant Cassette, in Al Quoz, Dubai, will host Chef Unleashed, two supper-club-style dinners for foodies who eat everything and enjoy trying new things. Next Tuesday, and on Tuesday, March 30, chef Shaunne Cordier will put together “an indulgent five-course meal”, with the menu remaining a secret until the night itself. All we know is that Cordier will offer an array of meat and seafood, and give diners an insight into “real Parisian cuisine”. The menu is priced at Dh350, will seat 40 and is set, in that it cannot be altered to any dietary requiremen­ts or food preference­s. Balkan-style picnic arrives at Reform Social & Grill

Two powerhouse restaurant­s – 21 Grams and Reform Social & Grill – are coming together tomorrow to offer diners a unique culinary experience. Enjoy Balkan bites and an al fresco ambience thanks to the 21 Grams popup at the British restaurant in The Lakes, Dubai. Chef Uros Mitrasinov­ic will bring his street-food style cooking to the picnic-style set-up, including dishes such as somun bread, baked Serbian potato, shopska salad, pljukanci pasta and polenta, plus a spit roast and venison stew prepared in a traditiona­l cast-iron pot. The event will take place from 2pm to 5pm, is priced from Dh250 (children dine for free), and requires booking by calling 04 454 2638.
